So Safari 5 is out....

So I have to say I am a die hard Firefox fan.  Now I don't use it for all the plugins and stuff like that.  I have found it to be the fastest browser out right now for Mac and PC.  Just the other day I installed Chrome, which I am using to right my blog in right now.  I have not found it to be as fast as the TV spots seem to claim.  I think it is better than IE but now that Safari is out and the little bit I have used that, I think Chrome is third.  I have not really had much time playing with it yet but I can tell you it is much faster than the old version.  I found Safari to very slow, I would have thought the way Apple likes to control everything it would have been the best browser for a mac.  I don't think it is there yet but it is making good headway on Firefox.  As I use Safari more I will let you know what I think along with Chrome.

WWDC 2010 has kicked off

Well Steve Jobs let the new iPhone out of the bag.  Surprise its just like all the leaked ones that were all over the internet.  So my take on the phone is, other than the screen which sounds flippen crazy the rest I could take or leave.  Now this is not to say I don't want one.  I have an old 3G iPhone and I can tell it has a problem running some apps.  Besides I would like to have the apps running in the background.  I think the face to face option is cool but unless the speaker phone is the best one ever I don't really see many people using it.  I was disappointed that  no MobileMe announcement was made making it a free service.  Although I am not that interested that much in the service other than keeping my contacts in sync on my iPhone and my mac mini server.  Unless the contacts on the iOS 4 can handle the format the server stores the contacts in.  Apparently Safari 5 was announced and then recanted so who knows on that.  I really think you will see a crack down on security at Apple so the next time they will be able to wow the crowd.  Just my two cents.  FYI Apple and Mr. Jobs if you want to send a iPhone my way to review fell free.

My First Post

So my wife got me an iPad for our 11 year anniversary.  It is a 64gb WiFi + 3G.  And I would have to say I have been very impressed.  I do not plan to use the 3G but it was the only model they had in stock.  I have all but given up using my laptop all together.  The only reason I have a need to get on my macbook is to Skype with my wife and kids when I am out of town.  The first app I downloaded was Netflix,  I have to say this is not to bad.  I know this app is no good unless you are on a WiFi hot spot but it has worked out well at hotels when traveling.  I have also downloaded some HiDef movies to it and they are beautiful to watch.  I have added some other apps as well like iBooks and all the free news papper.  The only thing I wished it had was a forward facing camera.  I am sure gen two will come with one since the 4th gen iPhone is getting one.  In my spare time I want to learn to write my own apps for the iPhone and iPad, but I have not gotten around to it yet.

In the future I plan to do reviews on software, hardware, electronics and anything else I can get my hands on.  I will probably even talk sports "Go Hawks"or about my family life.  I am in the early stages of finding my blog voice so bear with me.
